HOMEOPATHIC

BCG, or Bacille Calmette-Guerin, is a vaccine for tuberculosis. BCG is used in many countries with a high prevalence of TB to prevent childhood tuberculous meningitis and miliary disease. However, BCG is not generally recommended for use in some countries because of the low risk of infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the variable effectiveness of the vaccine against adult pulmonary TB, and the vaccine's potential interference with tuberculin skin test reactivity.

Leukocytosis. Eosinophilia. Lymphadenitis. Lymphogranulomatosis. Inflammation of glands, adenitis. Tuberculosis of glands. Dysthyroidism with tendency to hyperthyroidism. Benign tumors. Hypotension.

RECTUM

SKIN

SLEEP

Coated, discolored yellow, white tongue. Bitter pasty taste.

VERTIGO

Vertigo, feeling that death is imminent. Dizziness.

COMMENTS

Made from a stock of Mycobacterium tuberculosis of the bovine variety. The vaccinating mother-stock suspension of the homeopathic attenuations is made from a film of this bacillus, cultivated on a background of Santon fluid.

A Hahnemannian proving was conducted by O. A. Julian in 1960-61 on six provers using the 5c, 7c, and 9c (1977). Symptoms included extreme fatigue, persistent asthenia, and a heavy head, with diffuse pain in the occipital region. Head dull, face pale. Dry skin, with fissures.

Dry, tiring cough. Pleurodynia. Frequent head colds, eyes red, earache. Glandular infections. Extreme chilliness. Chilly, cannot bear noise, headaches, with disturbed sleep.

Rare fever, lasting only a short time.

Anorexia. Persistent nausea. Tubercular conditions in thin types. Always tired, and with chronic constipation. Asthenic, thin, hypersensitive, constipated type. Aversion to cigarettes.

Julian noted, "In clinical practice, B.C.G. is shown to be a polycrest and has a definite value in all para-tubercular and psychosomatic cases. It is worthy of replacing the nosode Marmoreck."
