Characteristics
The two sulphides of Arsenic, Orpiment and Realgar, have been used in a somewhat general way in cases combining prominent symptoms of both elements; but independent observations and provings have been made with the two salts. Orpiment has the burning pains and sensations of both Arsenic and Sulphur; stitching, tearing, and rheumatic pains moving from place to place. Lameness, staggering, trembling. Spasms, colic, vomiting, and diarrhœa. Annoying twitching. General debility. Chafing of skin about genitals and behind ears of children. Skin itching, dry, cracked; rhagades; itch. Jaundice. The periodicity of both Arsenic and Sul. are marked: < every afternoon and evening. > From steam or hot water. > Lying down.

Grimmer called ars-s-f. an arsenicum that affects the skin and mucus membrane strongly, malignant and regular ulceration, especially of the stomach, which is the seat of severe burning pain, with vomiting and diarrhea. There are symptoms of the two components; there is intense torturing anxiety and apprehension with restlessness.
Ars-s-f. has the burning pains and sensations of both Ars. and Sulph., stitching, tearing, and rheumatic pains moving from place to place. Lameness, staggering, trembling. Spasms, colic, vomiting, and diarrhea. Annoying twitching. General debility. Chafing of skin about genitals and behind ears of children.

Stomach
Indigestion. Burning and gnawing in stomach with vomiting and diarrhea. Cramp in stomach with fainting, colic, vomiting, diarrhea. Violent, persistent vomiting. Vomiting of offensive bile relieves.
Temperature
Hectic fever without thirst. Chronic intermittent fever, worse every afternoon and evening. Terrible heat at night.
