"ARSENICUM is our most important diuretic. It is suitable in all forms of dropsy, more particularly in dropsy depending upon heart disease and oedema of the lungs. After giving ARSENICUM, a copious diuresis will sometimes set in with astonishing rapidity, after which the dropsical swelling speedily disappears. The result is most doubtful if we have only ascites to contend against, and in as much as the medicine shows its good effects in a few days itself after a few doses have been taken, it is useless to continue it for a longer period in the vain hope of eliciting good effects from it by persisting in its use."
"When peptic ulcer is at pyloric end, ARSENICUM is the drug."
"In various advanced septic cases with persistent vomiting (and possibly diarrhoea) ARSENICUM ALBUM possesses considerable virtue. I have known it to work almost miraculously in several desperate cases of this kind."

"In psoriasis, the first influence of ARSENIC is to make the eruption redder and more inflamed. This fact, if not known, would lead to the suspension of the medicine just when it commenced to do good; at the same time, it is unnecessary to give it in doses sufficiently large to do this."
