Characteristics The symptoms of Agar. emet. resemble those of the other Agarics, but they have this characteristic, that whilst cold water < the symptoms of Agar. musc. it speedily and permanently relieves those of Agar. emet. Violent burning pains are caused in the stomach. There is sudden and violent longing for ice-cold water (during the worst attacks of anxiety), which causes gradual relief; violent vomiting, with anxious sensation, as if the stomach hung on threads which would be momentarily torn in two, with ice-cold sweat of face, and faintness < by moving head; < by smelling vinegar, which is unbearable. PHARMACY - agar-em. Agaricus emeticus. Russula emetica. N. 0. Fungi. A small acrid species. Found in woods in Europe. Tincture of fresh fungus.
Historicaldose: All potencies.
CLINICAL - Anxiety. Belching. Cold sweat. Diarrhea. Gastritis. Heartburn. Vertigo. Vomiting. Weakness.
HOMEOPATHIC – The symptoms of Agar-em. Resemble those of the other Agarics. But while cold water aggravates the symptoms of Agaricus Muscarius it speedily and permanently relieves those of Agar-em. Violent burning pains in the stomach.
There is a sudden and violent craving for ice-cold water during the worst attacks of anxiety, which gives gradual relief. All symptoms better from cold water. Violent vomiting with anxious sensation. as if the stomach hung on threads which would be momentarily torn in two with ice-cold sweat of face. Gastritis with cold sweat and a vomiting sensation.
Sudden great weakness. Severe vertigo. one must be carried to bed. is not able to sit or stand. Faintness worse by moving head.
Faintness worse by smelling vinegar. Which is unbearable.
MIND - Attacks of anxiety. Anxiety in stomach.
Abdomen - Distended abdomen. Constantly increasing pain in abdomen.
Eyes - Lachrymation from odors. Lasting weakness of eyes.
Food - Sudden, violent desire for ice-cold water. during the worst attacks of anxiety, which gives gradual relief. Dislike for wine and meat, relieve by cold water.
Modalities - Better from cold water. Worse from odors. Worse by smelling vinegar.
Mouth - Nauseous taste in mouth. Sharp burning in mouth.
Nose - Sneezing from smells.
Pulse - Pulse rapid, exceedingly weak.
Stomach - Violent vomiting with anxious sensation, with ice-cold sweat of face. Violent burning pain in stomach. Painful pressure in stomach, followed by frequent belching, repeated attempts to vomit. Constantly increasing anxiety in stomach. Stomach so sensitive that one could not touch it, nor cough.
Vertigo - Vertigo, so severe that one must be carried to bed is not able to sit or stand.
