AGARICINUM

(Agaric Acid)

PHARMACY - Agarin. Agaricinum. Agaric acid. It is obtained from the fungus Boletus laricis (White Agaric) and is a white crystalline powder. Trituration and dilutions. Historical dose: All potencies.

CLINICAL-Cataracts. Chorea. Emphysema. Erythema. Heart, weakness. Neuralgias. Neuritis. Tic douloureux.

HOMEOPATIDC-This remedy is employed in severe cases of chorea. Useful for the sweats of tuberculosis, it should be given before retiring. The dose may be repeated once or twice during the night.

Heart dilation, when complicated with emphysema. Fatty degeneration. Weakened heart

action from acute diseases and old age, when attended with profuse perspiration and erythema.

Agaricin should be studied when the symptoms are crossed over the body. Chorea. There is marked twitching of the eyelids, spasmodic movements from simple involuntary motions and jerks of single muscles to a dancing of the whole body.

Trembling of the limbs, soreness of the spine and redness of the eyes. involuntary movements cease during sleep, symptoms are worse during a thunderstorm.

Neuritis. The parts are red, hot and swollen. There are burning, itching and cramps of the hands and feet. There is twitching of the muscles of the hands and feet. The sleep is restless and disturbed.

COMMENTS - Royal reported that the 3x of Agarin. given three times daily cured a most violent case of Tic douloureux of the left side of face after Ars.. Mag-p. and Bell. had failed. A slight touch would cause the paroxysms to recur.
