Emphysema

A pathological distention of the tissues by gas or air occurs in this disease. For example, pulmonary emphysema in which there is distention of the pulmonary alveoli duet o accumulation of air, and surgical emphysema in which there is subcutaneous accumulation of the air after an operation.

Use of different drugs in the condition of Emphysema:-

1. Ipecac

Ipecac acts better on the breathing tube and the intestines which digest food. The patient feels difficulty in breathing due to being gathered additional phlegm in the lungs. Attack of asthma occurs due to disturbance in the breathing pipe and the patient feels that it is an attack of whooping cough. Thus, giving Ipecac 30 or 200 is very effective in such symptoms of the patient.

2. Aspidosparma or Lobelia

Aspidosparma helps to increase the oxygen level in the blood by irritating the breathing pipe and removes out carbonic acid. As a result of it, air is not able to fill in the lungs and disease is cured. Lobelia drug is also very beneficial in such symptoms of the patient.
